Greetings from Cranbrook, B.C., Aly! I have had the opportunity to know your mom since we were tegeaenrs, and not to long ago, she contacted me on facebook. I have been following your beautiful journey since you were crowned Miss Teen Southern Alberta. I find it very humbling and inspiring to have read your amazing journey in regards to your leg operation! My neice has Muscular Dystrophy, and like you, she is so positive about her future, and where will it lead her! She is fully and permantley immobilized, except for the use of her hands. She has just recently asked the government for more help at home, so she can try and maintain a close to normal life. She is 25 years old, and has a full time job away from home. I have been hired to help her with her care in July. She is such a beautiful person inside and out! Reading your journey, and watching my niece grow up and overcome some huge obstacles in her young life without complaining, makes me realize that no matter what the obstacle is, a person can acheive almost any thing if the person believes in their self. I wish there were more young women in this world with the same type of sheer determination! I wish you the very best at the pageant in Toronto. I hope to watch it on tv! Give your mom hugs from me.
